Sharon Relova: Research Associate
Sharon Relova first became interested in HIV/AIDS while taking introductory science courses at UBC. Her curiosity grew while taking an epidemiology and virology course during her student exchange to the University of Queensland, Australia, in 1999 and subsequently when working as a research assistant in the Epidemiology and Public Health Unit at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research.

After graduating from UBC with a BSc in Cell Biology and Genetics in May 2000, Sharon contacted Dr. Bob Hogg and began working with the Vanguard Project in June.

Sharon has written the first draft of a paper based on the poster "Determinants of complementary therapy use among young gay and bisexual men in Vancouver" (see page 88).

Sharon has enjoyed her time learning the value and importance of the HIV/AIDS research. She plans to attend graduate school in the fall.
